Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services

Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services (ARMHS) is a person-centered, recovery-focused program designed to empower individuals with mental illness to overcome impairments caused by their symptoms, enabling them to live independently in their homes or residences. ARMHS offers support through Basic Living and Social Skill building, Certified Peer Specialist Services, and Community Intervention to assist individuals in achieving their goals across various domains, including:
  • Coping with and managing mental health symptoms
  • Cultivating healthy lifestyle skills and practices
  • Preventing relapse and managing sobriety
  • Enhancing cooking and nutritional skills
  • Engaging in meaningful activities
  • Improving interpersonal communication
  • Identifying and accessing benefits and resources
  • Addressing employment-related tasks
  • Providing crisis assistance
  • Offering medication education

Certified Peer Specialist Services:

Peer Support Specialists, who have firsthand experience with mental health disorders, offer invaluable assistance in navigating the mental health system, providing acceptance, understanding, and validation. Their services include:
  • Helping individuals overcome barriers to accessing resources
  • Supporting individuals in forming a community for themselves
  • Exploring appropriate healthcare options with individuals

Who Qualifies for ARMHS?

Peer Support Specialists, individuals with personal experience in managing mental health disorders, offer invaluable guidance through the mental health system, providing acceptance, understanding, and validation. Specific services include:
  • Assisting individuals aged 18 years and older
  • Serving residents of Anoka, Washington, Hennepin, Ramsey, Chisago, Dakota, or Isanti counties
  • Supporting individuals diagnosed with mental illness, for which adult rehabilitative mental health services are deemed medically necessary by a qualified mental health professional
